Bohemian weddings have gained popularity over time and will continue to be trendy this year. It is perfect for the free spirit couples who loves to play with color, patterns and textures. What we love about this style, is its relaxed, carefree vibe. And because of its frugality, it adjusts to even the smallest of budgets. Bohemian weddings set to look fabulous at right event, so think woodlands, countryside venues, beach or a romantic back yard.
Today, we give you a sneak peek into stunning bohemian secret garden wedding that will get you totally inspired for your big day, and spectacularly illustrate just what we mean.
It all started on the 14th July 2017 on a divine summers day. Gorgeous couple Jade and Matt had a vision of a bohemian garden party that was brought to life thanks to their creativity.
For the wedding venue they opt for a beautiful The Tythe Barn in Oxfordshire, which is just 20 minutes from their home. Barn is built between 1360 and 1370, and still retains the majority of its 22 foot original beams. And with private gardens, pergolas, paddock and the old chapel, it provided a wonderful backdrop for their wedding photography.
It takes some thought and creativity to make your day own. Incorporating your personality can be as subtle as the font you use on your invitations or the cool and unique table numbers, or even the way you have your napkins folded around your menu cards. And that's what Jade and Matt achieved. They were really thinking outside of the box, and put their signature on everything, from the wooden signs to the Polaroid table plan.
For the table decor they opted for a truly boho variant, simple glass vase with different fresh wild flowers, and greenery that really gave the tables a cool summer touch. They also turned wine bottles into creative table-number displays, which performed double- duty as candle holder and table number. So creative and affordable, right?
Flowers and fairy-lights were the main decoration at this wedding. And for all that were in charge, the coolest girls in the flower business, Sorcha and Charlotte aka Herbet & Isles. With their ideas, this wedding was turned into magical and incredibly beautiful celebration. Just one look at this show-stopping floral chandelier and you will fall in love in their work.
Now let's talk about this stunning wedding dress.... Bride wore blush embroidered gown by Wendy Makin, from her French Collection. Wendy Makin dresses are recognized as one of Australia's best bridal wear brands. Her gowns have become known for their quality of design, fit and manufacture. No wonder why Jade opted for this brand! Her dress in 'tea rose' features three quarter sleeves, illusion neckline/back and unique floral embellishments which adds a whimsical effect to the relaxed style. The bride rounded up the whole look with 'Grace' by Rachel Simpson shoes ( featured all the colors of the dress, with a delicate rose detail and a peep toe), her Nanna's pearl earrings, and the flower crown made by Herbet & Isles.
Groom opted for the 3-piece 'Burford' suit by The Vintage Suit Hire Company, which is perfect for bohemian, rural weddings and can be dressed to create the look of the landed gentry, or a more folky informal look. The Groom and Groomsmen all wore different bow ties, which Matt found on Etsy. And Jade also made their dog Earl a bowtie to match! Cute, right?
No bohemian wedding is complete without a wedding cake with a romantic rustic feel. The couple opted for a three- tiered white/pink ombre wedding cake crawling with wild flowers and topped by a Lego bride and groom. Plus, they also had a fruitcake, made by the mother of the groom. Something for everyone to enjoy.
As the bride and groom have a love for all things Lego, they made every guest their very own Lego figurine, either modeled on them or a superhero. It is a really unique and thoughtful way of showing appreciation to their guests for attending their big day.
The cherry on top of this laid-back celebration is the 'pimp my Prosecco' bar. The guests could 'pimp' their Prosecco with a choice of fruits, flavoured syrups and sugar crystals. We are sure, everyone had so much fun customizing their drinks.

For the bridesmaids, bride opted for simple, nude matching chiffon dresses with a lace back detail from Asos. They complemented bride's dress beautifully but still stood out. The bridesmaids also carried foliage bouquets as they walked down the aisle and their dresses trailed on the grass behind them. They looked really beautiful!
And in charge of photography was the most sensational photographer Hannah Walker of Casey Avenue. She really made every photo effortlessly cool and quirky, and captured some really special moments between Matt, Jade and their daughter Molly. We are sure this happy couple will treasure these photo forever.
Bride also shared advice for other couples, for the Whimsical Wonderland Weddings website, and it said;
'Don’t overthink it! The tiny details won’t matter on the day. Go with what you want to do or you’ll risk last minute meltdowns. Also, when it comes to the dress, don’t be overwhelmed by all the beautiful dresses and everyone’s opinions… and finally, when the day is over, the photos will mean everything, so in my opinion this is the one place you shouldn’t cut costs.' – Jade
Congratulations to a beautiful couple! May your wonderful journey be filled with love and happiness.
